[My husband and I spent 9 days driving up the south Island on the west side of NZ,
and this was our favorite spot.

We would recommend anyone who has the desire for a true New Zealand experience to stay here.  

You wake up with sheep in your backyard,  chickens and their babies strolling around the property and fresh veggies growing in the back.

This cottage is a two story beauty, with all the necessities, including freshly baked cookies, cozy bathrobs, great reading material,   warm clean bed to sleep in, a nice kitchen with tea and other thoughtful treats, and the hosts are by far the nicest people in the world.

Set in a large country garden, surrounded by our private native forest, the quality, boutique, self-contained delightful Country Cottage has beautifully polished native timber (matai) floors, rimu walls & cathedral ceiling. 

The Chalet is purpose designed with two bedrooms, lounge,  private bathroom & private outdoor area.


Enjoy a great night’s sleep with no traffic noise or street lights.


When you arrive at Pininoa you can indulge in the pure luxury & comfort of doing nothing other than gazing at the forest, the sheep, the hens in the fields, the mountains in the distance, read a book, or you can have a stroll through our 50 acres of native forest & see no one but the birds in the trees...and enjoy all the peace and privacy of a tranquil retreat as we only have one party of guests at a time.

Stroll in the 50 acres (25 hectares) of private native forest, where you are welcome to explore, enjoy bird watching, photography, or take your wine & just relax in this tranquil & peaceful spot.
