Enjoy Fly Fishing……… For the expert angler or the beginner, we provide coaching in all aspects of fly-fishing, from choosing a fly to landing the fish. 

Fishing trips are matched to each angler's specific interests, abilities, health or disability, age, experience and fitness levels & the decision as to where to fish is made on the day & is determined by the weather. 


Our experienced fly fishing guide is a member of the NZPFGA, & has over 50 years experience in this area. So knows the best places to take you. His knowledge of the West Coast wilderness is extensive, as he has been fishing this area since he was a young lad.


Lake Brunner

For those wishing to lake fish,  The Lake Brunner area is world famous for its fishing. The stunning Southern Alps provide the backdrop to this piece of untouched wilderness situated in the heart of New Zealand’s West Coast. Surrounded by native forest, the rivers and spring creeks in the Lake Brunner area provide an ideal climate for fly-fishing. The brown trout fishing at Lake Brunner is second to none.



By 4 Wheel Drive

You will be picked up at Chalet Pininoa, around 8.30am, by four wheel drive and head off to secluded streams, rivers or lakes, where we will show you the best places to catch trout. You will be returned in the evening, tired, but happy, to your Chalet . Dinner is availableby prior arrangement......

From fly-casting tuition... including all the secrets to finding trout in the rivers and streams of the West Coast of New Zealand. For the expert angler or beginner. We will provide coaching in all aspects of fly-fishing, from choosing a fly to landing the fish.

The West Coast, is home to some of the best brown trout rivers, which, New Zealand has to offer. With a large area and small population, the rivers, lakes, and spring creeks are plentiful and undisturbed - but you need to know where to look. . With our knowledge of the area we can take you to these areas.


Equipment:

If you've got your own that's great, if not, then we can supply it.
We have everything you need, whether you are a beginner or an expert. 
All you need to bring is your personal items, your hat, jacket & footwear (wading boots if river fishing)

We practice a Strict Catch and Release policy

Driving Directions to Chalet Pininoa

From Christchurch - via Arthur’s Pass
Follow State Highway 73 Over the Arthur’s Pass to Jackson’s Hotel, turn right at Taramakau Bridge 1km further on & follow signs through Moana to Stillwater. Turn right & drive North to Matai approx 15 minutes. Allow 3.5 hours from Christchurch

From Christchurch - via Lewis Pass
Lewis Pass (S.H 7) to Reefton Township and follow S.H.7. to Matai (approx 30minutes) Allow 4 hours from Christchurch

From Picton - the Interislander Ferry terminal – Blenheim and Nelson
Follow signs south towards Greymouth . Turn left at Inangahua Junction to S.H.7
Allow 5 hours from Nelson

From South - Wanaka/Queenstown/ Glaciers
Head north to the Haast Pass (S.H.6), and then northwards to Greymouth. From Greymouth follow Reefton Highway (S.H 7) to Matai (approx 20 Minutes)
Allow 8 hours from Queenstown 3 Hours from Glaciers
